A KIDNAPPED LORD AND A VICIOUS DRAGON

"Lord Samson Bors the Monolith, lord of Castle Carament and ruler of Gaunestel, has disappeared. The only lead: the legend of the Gilded Sun, a vicious solar dragon and the bane of Castle Carament."

Knights of Castle Carament is a 24-page, one session 5e heroic adventure designed for 3-6 third level characters. Set out from Castle Carament on a quest to recover the missing Lord Samson Bors, thought to have been kidnapped by a terrible solar dragon known as the Gilded Sun. Journey through the Grimlight Wode, discover a mystical naiad, fight off a pack of grim wolves and their unholy leader, sneak past an elemental guardian of the Gilded Sun, and encounter the ghastly grimlight itself. All the while, unravel the history of the Grimlight Wode and the origin of Castle Carament.

Those that prevail may make their way out of the forest to the peak of the mountain Solmount, where a final confrontation against the Gilded Sun awaits.

Knights of Castle Carament features:

  • A plethora of comprehensive sandbox encounters

  • 5 new monster with unique statblocks, including a new dragon type that  grows with strength under sunlight

  • 7 fully-detailed, goal-oriented NPCs like the couragous leonin paladin Lord Samson Bors

  • Unique magic items, from the blazing Sunfire Sword to the mighty Wall of the Monolith

  • and much more!

Production Overview

Knights of Castle Carament was a solo project created as a way to decided if TTRPG game design and writing was something that I would truly wish to do as a career. The answer is yes - this product was a labor of love.

Knights of Castle Carament was a lesson in making sure to start off with a *good* outline. Starting this project with small doubts only spiraled into massive ones - causing a complete restart of the project halfway in. What should have been a one month project became a three month one. Yet I was able to scope the project itself effectively, complete the rework by the intended time, playtest multiple times, source art, self-market, and design something I am truly proud of.
